Robotic Sleeve Gastrectomy

Robotic sleeve gastrectomy is a weight loss procedure that removes about 70–80% of the stomach. The remaining stomach is reshaped into a narrow tube or “sleeve,” which limits the amount of food that can be eaten and reduces hunger by lowering hormone production. The surgery is performed using a robot-assisted system, which allows the surgeon greater precision, control, and visualization through small incisions. The goal is to help patients lose weight and improve obesity-related conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and sleep apnea. Robotic sleeve gastrectomy is permanent and is one of the most effective bariatric procedures.
